Rebecca Budgen provides dog walking services, pet visits and dog home boarding in Derby and Ashby-De- La-Zouch.

Rebecca was born into the gentle and loving paws of a Labrador named Thunder; and so her love of the Black Lab was born. Thunder was succeeded by a more mischievous pup called Sallie, who was followed by Paddington. Although they are her choice of breed, it’s not just Labradors that Rebecca has had the privilege of being owned by. She has also experienced the intellect and charm of Cassius, a gorgeous Staffordshire bull terrier. Along with the pups, she has also owned gerbils, a tortoise, a turtle, fish and she kindly rehomed 6 Guinea Pigs rescued from the Public Health Bacteriology Laboratory in Derby.

The time came when Rebecca decided to embark on a very exciting and responsible career that took her to Florida. As the resident British Vice-Consul she became involved when pet passports were introduced. Through this position Rebecca became involved with the Florida Swan Research Group, a voluntary group concerned with mute swan veterinary care and conservation in Florida parkland.  All of her skills were called upon during the tragic evacuation of New Orleans after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. It was not just residents that needed aid, but the animal population also suffered throughout this disastrous time.

Back on home ground and changing her pace of life, Rebecca is putting all of her skills to the test with a Pet Carers Franchise, with Rafa her black lab loyally at her side.  Rebecca’s Derby dog walking service can be tailored to suit your dog’s individual requirements. Rebecca also offers cat and other small pet visits in the Derby area.

The Derby dog homeboarding service ensures your dog has a comfortable stay with one of our host families, not kennels, meaning your dog has as much of a relaxing holiday as you do!  Each host family is specially selected, is an experienced dog owner whether they have their own dogs or not, and dedicate their home and time to your dog during their stay.
