Pet Carers Northumberland franchisee Kim Gallagher has had dogs since she was nine years old. Her first dog Brandy, she found on a cold December day, shivering and cold on a pet stall at a market in Newcastle. After pleading with her Mum and Dad and promising take care of the puppy, she was allowed to take her home, and this began her love affair with animals. Brandy was then joined by Cindy a stray that followed her home one day and then Dusty a pup that needed a home and as the years went on there was Carly, Cassie, Mindy and Fudge and two cats both called Sam who were much loved by all the family and lived happy long lives. Sam 2 the cat is now 14.
Born in Stakeford Northumberland, over the years Kim has rescued and cared for a wide variety of both domestic and wild animals including Bob the pigeon who much to her husband’s surprise, was found as a fledgling and bought home to be nursed back to health and released back into the wild.
Kim has also had many other pets over the years, rabbits, guinea pigs, budgies, rats, degus, mice and currently, Benson the Border Collie, Millie the Collie Cross and the latest addition Amber a Golden Retriever who all live with her, her husband Andrew and their son Gage.
Kim and her family were going on a holiday and needed the animals they love to be cared for and found it difficult to make sure they were going to be treated with the love and care that they were used to at home. Hence after spending the last six year working for a local manufacturing company, where she has seen her career progress from a buyer to a company director, she has decided that now is time to change her career and do something that she loves and will benefit animal owners in the area. Offering a service where your animals will be treated with the love, care and respect you yourself would give them, allowing you worry free holidays knowing your pets are in safe hands.
Kim’s Husband has recently joined the business as a fully qualified dog trainer and uses the most modern, kind motivational methods available. No shouting, no choke chains, no force.
Pet Carers offers dog home boarding, dog walking, small animal visits and dog training in Stakeford, Ashington, Bedlington, Cramlington, Newbiggen, Seaton Delaval, Morpeth, Cambois and the surrounding Northumberland and Newcastle areas
Living in Northumberland there are many areas where on their walks your dog will be able to explore and enjoy the countryside and beaches.
Kim’s love of all animals also ensures that small animal visits will be thorough and that your pets will be checked, fed, cleaned and of course given fuss during the day.
Kim’s dog walking service can be tailored to suit your dog’s individual needs, encompassing on or off-lead walking and visits to local parks and green areas.

My 9 year old staffie had the pet care for 1 week, I was increasingly anxious to leave her as I have not left her before. Holly did not want to come home as the carers done such a fantastic job of looking after Holly, her needs where matched exceptionally well. My mind was put at ease as I got updates on how she was doing, Holly has came back with a new lease of life and she has even lost weight as she went to the beach every day as that was one of the things suggested with the pet carers. Holly was well looked after and loved like the carers own pet. I am extremely satisfied with the commitment and effort shown by the pet carers, I will be using this service again as it exceeded my expectations and Holly was looked after better than I could have imagined. I would recommend this company every time!! Thanks again holly loved it!!

Just want to thank you for an excellent professional service you have given having Jake looked after so well.He has obviously enjoyed Gillians company as much as she enjoyed having him,When leaving jake on an number of occasions over the years I can always tell when I come home if he has been ok.He was a very happy dog yesterday and it was good to see him so settled back at home.
Give my regards to Gillian and hopefully I will be in touch again when we organize some more trips
